My third picture in the creation of the show is a rather touching moment, under the category of refugees. It is a very |
young child looking totally lost, with lines of other children, waiting to be fed. His anguish can be seen in the wringing |
of his fingersas he moves out of the line, bewildered and confused. A soldier, puts a kind fatherly hand on his head to |
guide him back inthe right direction. I decided to call it, a touch of kindness. It's about humanity. Extreme situations |
| |
can bring tender moments , even at times of war, this is a theme I will return to , with human warmth. |

Drawn out in burnt sienna , I |
I apply text to the gun, as he is |
Painting in the hand, I realise that I |
| |
decide as I go, not to put in the |
obviously a kindly soldier, making |
need to stop them looking like a bunch |
| |
top of the soldier. I just want to |
thatgesture.Wondering whether to |
of bananas ! |
| |
emphasize the hand on the head, |
paint into the text on the gun. I focus |
This picture stays like this for |
| |
and cut the top of the board off. |
on his bewildered face. The azure blue |
a couple of weeks until I have decided |
| |
This focuses my attention on the |
for his over sized tee shirt really |
how to continue. |
| |
part I feel is important. |
makes him stand out.Works well with |

the burnt sienna. |
