Children at War was a touring exhibition organised by Highlight, in East Sussex in 2010.

The exhibition was about children whose lives are torn apart by war, both traditional, and gang war.
 
Directed at a teenage audience, the project investigated the effects of Warfare on children around the world.

The setting for Children at War in 2010 was two fortresses in East Sussex, and the Friends Meeting House in
 
Brighton. All artwork was by lead artist Clare Hackney.Over 8,000 people visited the show.

The Exhibition had two sections, traditional warfare, and gang warfare.
 
The exhibition illustrated themes from the National Curriculum courses in Citizenship, Opening Minds, Art
 
and P.L.T.S.(personal learning and thinking skills) .It has artwork featuring Child Soldiers, Refugees, Orphans,
 
links
Street Children, Land Mine victims, and Suicide bombers. It was held together with a strong Human Rights
 
contact
linkage. The gang warfare dealt with teenage drinking, knife, gun crime, and making positive choices in life.

Education
  Free talks for East Sussex Senior schools were given .
  Free Anti - Knife Crime Creative Workshops for East Sussex Senior Schools, were held at Newhaven Fort.
  These free talks and workshops were courtesy of the Big Lottery Fund.
   
  Murals and the Art Trail
  At the Eastbourne show there was a mural about Children's rights to a childhood. At Newhaven Fort there was
  an anti knife crime trail , and an Art trail around the site investigating Human Rights.
    An anti knife crime mural was also put up at Southwater Area Community Centre, as part of Coastal currents.
